FAQs
Here, you’ll find answers about our permanent jewelry, making your experience with us even clearer and more unique.
Permanent jewelry refers to a piece (usually a necklace or bracelet) that is welded instead of being fastened with a clasp.
The process of acquiring permanent jewelry is surprisingly quick. After selecting your chain and any pendants, we measure until we have the perfect fit and then weld it onto your wrist, ankle, or neck. It’s very simple.
- Bracelets: By far the most popular type of permanent jewelry. They usually feature a silver chain with or without additional pendants.
- Anklets: Anklets are very similar to bracelets, though they generally need to be longer, so they will cost a bit more.
- Necklaces: The same applies to necklaces, which can also be worn as permanent jewelry.
- Rings: While many people wear gold or lab-grown diamond rings that they never take off, a permanent ring is made from the same type of thin gold or silver chain and is fitted in exactly the same way.
The process is completely painless. The piece is welded, which means there is some heat involved, but it only touches the jewelry and not your skin. No, it doesn’t hurt. For safety, your skin is protected by a small piece of leather, making it a safe experience.
While truly permanent, permanent jewelry is not as difficult to remove as a tattoo, for example. If you need or want to remove it, the bracelet can be easily taken off by cutting it with scissors. This removal does not need to be permanent; we offer to re-weld it for a small fee.
Assuming you never want or need to take them off, permanent jewelry will last as long as you wish. Most permanent jewelry is made of silver or gold, which is non-magnetic, durable, and resistant to the elements, so you don’t need to worry about damage or having to take them off in specific situations.
Yes. Since most permanent jewelry is made of silver or gold, and in some cases stones or diamonds, nothing in your piece will trigger a metal detector.
Of course. In fact, it’s easier to shower with permanent jewelry than wearing an engagement ring or earrings, for example, since you don’t need to worry about the pieces slipping off with the soap.
Yes, you can. As nothing in the piece is magnetic, it won’t cause problems for an MRI machine. However, if a medical professional insists that you remove it, it can be done with scissors, and then re-welded after the procedure.
We do not advise it, although we are not aware of problems. Pregnant women gain weight and this generally does not affect the wrists or neck. However, some pregnant women may experience swelling in their hands, feet, and ankles, and if this is a concern, you should avoid getting a permanent ring or anklet before or during pregnancy.
